2 COLLECTIONS OF WORK by Aya Ikeda-Barry & Keith Ikeda-Barry
Hello everyone,
Another Thirty Days Project has just concluded. We, along with many others, created a new piece of art each day for the entire month of June. The work was posted at http://www.thirtydaysproject.com and ours has now been collected into a show here in Vancouver.
Aya studied portraits by the Old Masters, reinterpreting them in pencil on raw canvas with meticulous beadwork recreations of the subjects' jewelry.
Keith chose to advance up Main Street, one intersection each day, rendering a corner or two in pencil, ink and watercolours. One drawing was done using shadows. Another has been printed out and reconstructed from cut paper.
Come and see them, framed and hanging prettily.
Opening night is Tuesday, July 20 from five until nine in the evening at 195 East 26th Avenue, at Main Street.
You will be most welcome.
The gallery will generally be open in the late afternoons and evenings during the week, and most of the day and evenings during the weekends.
Please don't hesitate to call us at 604-876-5481 to arrange a viewing at your convenience.
During gallery hours we can be reached at 604-868-6278.
Looking forward to seeing you soon. Please forward this to those you think might find it interesting.
Sincerely,
Keith and Aya Ikeda-Barry
